Shangjr Gwo received his PhD in physics from the University of Texas at Austin, USA in 1993. He is currently a distinguished chair professor of physics at National Tsing-Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, and serves as the director of the Research Center for Applied Sciences in Academia Sinica, Nankang, Taiwan.
